Most adults today are overweight. And almost every one of us is always on the lookout for the next super diet that will once and for all help us to finally shed the pounds.
More and more of us are having problem with weight, and there seems to be a correlation to the number of methods to lose it. Although most of them are pretty good in helping you to lose weight, they can be complicated to understand, and difficult to follow.
Here I’d like to help you with a couple quick rules of thumb on how to eat the right kinds of food. When you eat he right kinds of fats and carbohydrates, you will go a long way in naturally slimming down.
One potential killer of your future slim and sexy body is bad carbohydrates. Some diets recommend that you get rid of carbs completely, but although that has been proven effective, it is much easier said than done and not very healthy in the long run.
Not all carbs are bad. How do you know? Usually it is a good idea to avoid anything processed. To do this simply choose brown and fresh whenever possible.
When choosing pasta, bread or rice, brown is usually better–just be careful of that bread called “wheat” without any whole grains in it. The whiter a carbohydrate is, generally speaking, the more your body treats it just like sugar. Of course, brown milk chocolate is just as bad as white chocolate!
Fats are another mystery to many. There are good fats, and bad fats. Olive oil is much better than butter and solid shortening or margarine is not good for anything. Fats in fruits, nuts, and fish are better than fats in oils and french fries.
While these rules are only a rough guide, they can go a long way in helping you choose the right foods, which can support a healthy body and lifestyle. For a great program to get you on your way go to Isabel de los Rios’ Diet Solution Program.

Thanks for the tips! I agree – whole grain, complex carbs such as brown rice, quinoa, and oats are ideal weight management foods. Nutritious and high in fiber, whole grains keep the tummy full. A breakfast of old fashioned oats topped with fresh berries will hold me until lunchtime… no mid-morning snack temptation! The Omega 3s in fatty fish and extra virgin olive oil are good for weight control and overall health. And a healthy diet that includes fresh foods, good carbs, and healthy fats is great for your complexion!
